This painting is based on a series of photos of American White Ibises flying away from a large tree in the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge in January 2025. I really liked the various graceful poses of different birds in flight as well as the birds sitting in the tree, so I decided to combine all of those elements into one page large enough to show it all. On a sheet of 22" X 30", this is the largest painting I've done to date, and it was a time-consuming challenge to plan and execute it all. One of my sisters said it reminds her of a group of angels flying to heaven.
