My family and I have been fans of the Emory University men's basketball team for years, attending numerous games each season. The games are free to attend, close to our home and the play is high-quality and exciting. We know their roster well and have favorite players. I wanted to capture some of the excitement and action of their games in this painting. Logan Shanahan goes in for a dunk against Carnegie Mellon but the defender has good position for a block. I liked the drama of the scene of everyone watching and wondering if Shanahan will make it, but the faces are poorly done. I want to revisit sports action again in the future, but perhaps with a looser approach.
